Jay has tried dozens of cases, and he knows how to relate to Eastern Washington juries. A senior member of our local bar, Jay is often asked to consult with other lawyers and to speak about the process of jury selection. His method and success are known statewide. Jay is known among his peers as one of the premier trial lawyers in our region.
Jay has dedicated decades to building a successful and reputable career in Eastern Washington. He is rated a “Super Lawyer,” and is named of one of the “Best Lawyers in America” by Best Lawyers® Attorney national rating system. His crowning achievement was in 2001 when his trial lawyer peers selected him as the Washington state “Trial Lawyer of the Year.”
In 2010, Jay was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers and was selected by the American Association for Justice as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in Washington State. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Jay grew up in New York state and met his wife Sue, a Pasco Native, during college. They married while he was still attending law school. The two made their way to the Tri-Cities—where Jay has now lived and practiced for over 40 years. Jay and Sue raised their three sons in the Tri-Cities. They have since been blessed with three wonderful daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and a very loving dog named Blue. Sue is a retired Kennewick School District elementary school teacher.
Outside the office, Jay enjoys hiking, yoga, Pilates, reading, and spending time with his family.
